AboutWelcome! We are Wendy Gabbe Day and Eric Day, the creators of Lively Days. We wanted to share our everyday adventures of trying to live healthy, compassionate, and sustainable lives in the hopes it may inspire others to also consider their daily choices. Our core values of sustainability inspired us to create this site. We currently live in Santa Cruz, CA with our son, Eli (born July 13, 2012), and our veggie-loving dog Kahlua. We previously had our own blogs but decided to combine our efforts.Wendy is the author of Scatter Vegan Sweets, a vegan cooking instructor, certified personal trainer, and board member (formerly coordinator) for Northwest VEG. She attended University of California, Irvine and graduated with honors in English while playing Division 1 college basketball. A vegetarian since birth and a vegan since the age of 5, Wendy was exposed to a holistic, natural approach to health and wellness from a very early age. Her father, David Gabbe, is a vegan cooking instructor and author of vegan cookbooks. Eric has worked as a software engineer since high school and earned a Computer Science degree from Portland State University. He has worked for a number of high-tech companies with a focus on open source software, but now works at craigslist. He was on the board of Northwest VEG from 2009-2012 and Vice President two of those years. During his senior year in high school Eric started learning about veganism and shortly thereafter started following the lifestyle. In recent years we started learning more about simple living and the minimalist lifestyle - which align well with our values of sustainability. It's been a fun journey exploring new ways to simplify our lives, and the more we do, the more we realize we've got a long ways to go. We hope you find our website useful in exploring your own path!
